I started using Move up coaching in May of 2017, my racing improvement throughout that year were excellent, with good overall gravel results and cutting an hour off my BT Epic time for an 8th place overall finish. Kent nailed my winter training schedule with strength and base, and the lead up into my Key races for 2018. I went from 108th at the DK in 2017, to 20th overall in 2018 after just one year of using Move Ups program. 2018 has brought many great results and overall wins in gravel and mountain bike racing. I highly recommend using Move Up Coaching.
I had the good fortune to be Kent's first victim. I didn't want to have to become a food expert and Kent worked out meal and riding schedule based on the races I was interested in. Mostly I liked that he wanted to know what my goals were and he worked to help me obtain them. My fitness increased tremendously and I lost the weight. Never had a better race season.
I knew nothing about road racing or proper training prior to last year (2017), after I began riding with the MoveUp affiliated teams and coaches my knowledge level and stoke went through the roof! These guys have a solid wealth of knowledge and community awareness that will surely take you to the next level in any area of cycling.
Just finished 1st of 4 CX clinics with Garrick and Kent. Fun, flowing, and heart rate-bumping course layout courtesy of Garrick. We covered/practiced mount/dismounts, cornering, and had a couple mock races. These guys are good. Follow the leader with Kent connected some cornering-technique dots for me. I'll be driving up from Roeland Park the next 3 weeks if anyone needs a ride.
I've been working with a few of the coaches for a while now and the results have been more than I've ever expected. I'm winning races and making big gains. I'm the kind of guy that usually just learns as I go so going to a coach wasn't something I would normally do. I'm so glad I chose More Up! If you want to see big gains give them a call.
Kent has been very easy to work with. He is able to readjust my schedule when life gets in the way. He keeps the workouts challenging but achievable, and I like the little notes he puts in to help me get my head right. In a fairly short amount of time, my performance has increased, which has lead to an increase in confidence.
If you have fitness goals, Kent can help you achieve them. I've worked with Kent for several years and he has successfully helped me with my goals in multiple disciplines of cycling, from criteriums, cyclocross, and most recently, mountain biking. Specifically, helping me with a top 10 finish at Marathon Mountain Bike Nationals at Iron Mountain, AR. If you really want to get faster and fitter, consider holding off on any equipment upgrades and purchase some coaching from Kent and Move Up.
I have been working with Kent for about half a year now and the results have been unimaginable. I thought I was training right before using a coach but I have quickly realized that to perform at the highest level, you have to have and good coach. I am also using Kent for Half Ironman training and I have seen significant gains in my overall performances in all three sports.
Coach Kent is very accomodating to tailor made my workout plans to my ever changing life schedule. I really appreciate the fact that Kent is very easy to get hold of, which is the total opposite of me when he's trying to get hold of me.
I've worked with Kent for 2 1/2 years, his accessibility, focus on my bike fitness and training is unmatched. He has helped me go from mid pack gravel grinding to lead group in a very short time. If you want a direct reference you can contact me and ask any questions you may have.
In only 8 months, Kent took me from a 30th place Joe Martin finish in 2016 to a 4th place podium finish in 2017. He keeps things flexible and fits training around my full-time work schedule. He's very responsive to questions of which I have many being that I only have one season of racing under my belt. Highly recommend!
Kent has been an amazing coach. Even with changing schedules, goals, and injuries, he helped me maximize my training, and was super responsive. It also great having someone that knows the racing environment, and isn't just giving you a training plan. He's interested in your success, and it shows for sure!
In less than a year coaching with Kent I went from 55th place at Joe Martin (45:00 minutes off first) to finishing 2nd only 30 seconds down on first place. This honestly says more about Kent and his coaching style then it does about me as an athlete. I've had several coaches in the past who were very good but didn't find the secret formula to success, keeping it fun. I'm always excited to see my next block of training and I know if life gets in the way Kent can work around it. Training shouldn't feel like a never-ending homework assignment! I was a cat 3 for 6 years before starting to work with Kent and now in less than a year I'm on the verge of a cat 2 upgrade. I can say from experience, working with Move Up Endurance Coaching can and will help you take it to the next level.
Kent began training me in the fall of 2015. In the following road and cyclocross seasons, I won 12 races in the Pro1/2 category along with 16 additional top three finishes. Kent keeps up to date on the latest fitness research, so when pushing through challenging workouts, I always find comfort in knowing there is science validating my misery. Kent is more than a coach; he is a scholar, he is motivator, he is an all around badass willing to go the extra mile.
Coach Kent has been not only a great coach but a motivator, a nutritionist and an all around classy guy. He finds ways to make me think of things differently to keep me racing fast, moving forward and growing as a bike racer. I participate in Mtn Biking, Road and Cross, Coach Kent does a find job balancing my goals with reality.
Kent is a very good coach and has the experience and knowledge to take someone to the top. The only hold back would be yourself, get with Kent and you'll understand what I am talking about. Kent trained me for a race that I did a few years back and I would train with him if I ever get a wild hair to race again.
Having structure and an objective view to training is crucial to help you reach your potential in this sport. Kent has worked hard to dial in my strengths and work on areas of weakness to help me reach my goals for this season. I love being set up with a Training Peaks account, which makes viewing the training plan really straight forward and low stress. It's been fun to see the improvements in power and recovery so far this year and I'm excited to build on that as the season progresses.
Kent has been a great help! With his knowledge and persistent follow-up, I've improved my performance a ton. Yes I've lost 20 lbs and increased my power output across the board, but Kent has also provided what many other coaches will not - great analysis in a wide set of performance dimensions. Kent has helped me improve my cycling cadence, pedal stroke, bike fit, race tactics, nutrition approach, recovery, and he welcomes nerdy questions. Not to mention the local community he's working to develop through his Gentlemen's series events and clinics. He's definitely worth the investment - he will help keep you accountable and keep going!
