Coach Rides: Group Ride Skills

This will be a series of training rides aimed specifically at improving the skills necessary for road racing. Each ride will build upon the next focusing on skills such as; pace-lines, attacking, bridging gaps, lead outs, and more!

This Sunday we’ll begin with the basics of riding in a pace-line. A well-tuned group can move much faster with less work and more safety. In a race, the breakaways that typically succeed are those that have the right mix of riders willing to work with one another. If any of those riders decide to not work with the group by either throttling the gas on every pull or refusing to do their share of the work then the breakaway will go slower and probably fail.

  • Rides will be held at the downtown Kansas City airport. Click here for a map.
  • Riders will be required to sign a waiver in order participate.
  • Dates and times will be listed on the Events Calendar.

10:00 – 10:50am – Women Only

This group is open to all women wanting to improve their pace-line skills for road racing. The pace will start easy and gradually increase as riders become more comfortable and start to flow better.

11:00 – 11:00 – Open Group

This group is open to all riders wanting to improve their pace line skills for road racing. We will follow a similar format at the earlier group but will increase to higher speeds in the later half of the ride.
