Maximize Your Gravel Race Performance with Expert Coaching for the Great Plains Gravel Cup

Athletes will receive a structured training plan focused on all six of the Great Plains Gravel Cup events from January 1st to September 14th, focusing on interval progressions, rest periods, tapering strategies, and race preparation.

While the training plan is generalized, it will include guidance on how to set appropriate interval intensity, progress through intervals, and adjust training volume according to your ability. The plan will accommodate athletes training with heart rate, power, or perceived effort. The core of the program is built on solid training principles and proven progressions. During our group meetings, we will discuss how to adjust the plan using simple metrics to help you make training decisions with confidence.

Who is This Program For?

Athletes Targeting the Great Plains Gravel Cup
Even if you’re unable to attend all six races, this group coaching program offers invaluable insights. You’ll learn how to structure your race season, optimize your training, analyze gravel courses, develop pacing strategies, and plan nutrition for both training and race day. This program is designed to elevate your performance in gravel events, regardless of your race schedule.

Open to All Gravel Racers
You don’t have to be a member of Move Up Cycling Club to join. This program is open to all cyclists who want to improve their gravel racing skills and strategies, whether you’re new to gravel racing or aiming to refine your approach.

Regular Group Meetings for Training, Race Prep, and Course Analysis

Join our regular group meetings on Zoom to stay on track with your training for the Great Plains Gravel Cup. These sessions feature race-specific course analysis, training progress check-ins, and insights from expert coaches. Open to both group coaching and 1-on-1 athletes, all meetings are recorded and uploaded to a private YouTube channel for future reference, with summaries available on Slack.

Weekly AMA Sessions with Coach Kent Woermann

Athletes can participate in a weekly “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) session where they can interact with Coach Kent Woermann and other participants to ask questions about their training and upcoming races. While the AMA sessions are open, I ask that questions remain focused on the races, the general training plan, and broader topics like nutrition strategies. I will not be conducting personalized file analysis or creating individualized nutrition plans during these sessions. However, we will cover many aspects of file analysis and nutrition planning in greater depth during the group Zoom calls.

1-on-1 Coaching vs Group Coaching: Which Gravel Training Option Fits You?

Group Coaching

Group Coaching offers general training plans designed for gravel racers, focusing on best-practice interval progressions, rest strategies, and race analysis. This option is ideal for athletes who thrive in a community setting and are self-starters. You’ll be expected to take an active role in decision-making throughout the program, using the guidance provided by your coach to structure your training, manage your nutrition, and adjust your efforts as needed.

1-on-1 Coaching

For athletes seeking personalized attention and ongoing adjustments, 1-on-1 Coaching is fully customized to your individual needs. Your coach will continuously adapt your training plan based on your progress, fatigue levels, or any changes in your goals. This includes fine-tuning ride lengths, interval durations and intensities, as well as dialing in your ride and race-day nutrition strategies to ensure you perform at your best.

Transitioning to 1-on-1 Coaching

If you’re currently enrolled in Group Coaching but wish to switch to 1-on-1 Coaching, simply contact Coach Kent Woermann. Your prorated group coaching balance will be applied to the new 1-on-1 coaching rate, and you’ll still have access to weekly AMAs and Zoom meetings.

Pricing and Refund Policies for Great Plains Gravel Cup Coaching

Sign-ups for the 2025 Great Plains Gravel Cup Coaching Program will be open from November through December 2024. Athletes must join during this window, and the program officially begins in January 2025, with no exceptions. While you can secure your spot now, your payment will not be processed until January 1st, 2025. Leading up to the start of the program, you will receive links to connect your TrainingPeaks account (a free Basic account is sufficient) with Coach Kent Woermann, along with an invitation to join the private Slack channel for the group.

To ensure the program is financially viable, we require a minimum of 8 athletes to sign up for the 2025 season. If this threshold is not met, the program will not proceed, and you will not be charged on January 1st. We believe training with friends is one of the best motivators, so if you know others who would benefit from this program, encourage them to join you for a season of fun and growth.

If the group training threshold of 8 sign-ups is not met, we will offer each athlete a 60-minute consultation at a reduced rate of $50. During this session, Coach Kent Woermann will download and analyze your training data, providing you with a customized framework to structure your season based on your goals and the data provided. This is a valuable alternative to ensure you still receive expert guidance and support in your training, even if the group program doesn’t proceed.

Refund Policy

Upfront Payments: Partial refunds of 50% are available if requested by February 28th, 2025. No refunds will be given after this date.

Month-to-Month: No refunds are available for month-to-month participants.

Injury Clause
For athletes who paid upfront and experience a legitimate injury, a 50% refund will be granted for the remaining months, starting from the first of the next calendar month after the injury is documented. This refund applies only to injuries and lasts until September 14th.

Commitment to Your Success

This program is designed to foster commitment to your training, your coach, and your goals. Staying consistent throughout the entire season is key to maximizing your potential. The financial commitment acts as a strong motivator to help you see the season through and achieve your best results.
